What’s your favourite time of day?
Probably the end of the day when all my tasks and agenda of the day are checked off the list.
Describe your personal design style.
My personal design style is towards the modern and contemporary, combined with natural elements like stone and wood textures.
What’s your biggest strength?
Being decisive and adaptable to situations while working towards a goal.
What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had?
When I was 16, I went on my first humanitarian mission to Sri Lanka. I understood just how fortunate I was to have a roof, food, clothes and shoes to wear while there were people out there struggling with basic necessities. This made me realise that I had to put my privilege to good use and help in any way I can.
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
The greatest compliment is when someone tells me they had an amazing time at a Tipsy Collective outlet and I should visit before knowing that I actually co-founded it.
When are you the most inspired?
When I am surrounded by people who are enthusiastic and passionate about what they do, it inspires me to do better. When I am with people who believe in me, I am inspired to learn, improve and succeed.
What song can you listen to on repeat?
The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. This song makes me feel relaxed when I have many things on my mind.
What makes you smile the most?
Being surrounded by family and friends, while having a good time over food, drinks and deep conversations.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
Though it might come as a surprise for someone who is in the F&B business, I’m actually an introverted person. I enjoy my occasional me-time with a bottle of red wine and Netflix at home.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done in your life?
I went for a disaster relief mission trip to Palu, Indonesia after the tsunami happened back in 2018. There were constant after quakes that we had to face, including a shortage of food, water and gas in the city; and to make it worse, the added threat of inmates who escaped right before the tsunami in the area.
How do you start your day?
Definitely with a cup of coffee, while listening to a short educational or motivational podcast. I do believe in learning new things every day, after which I travel to the office leisurely and plan my agenda for the day.
What’s one city you’ve always dreamed of traveling to?
Having lived in the city for most of my life, I’ve often dreamed of travelling to a tranquil and peaceful island for a holiday. So, Santorini in Greece would be my ideal destination.
What’s the best thing that happened so far this year?
The silver lining is that the pandemic provided us with opportunities and locations that would not have been previously considered or possible. We feel fortunate that as a team, we were able to overcome difficulties together and are on track with opening our newest outlet, Tipsy Flamingo, later this year.
What do you think has been the best thing that’s been invented so far?
I would say aeroplanes, as I’m really big on gaining experiences through travel.
