After 14 years in the historically and culturally rich Bras Basah and Bugis precincts, Foundry recently moved to its new home in Tan Boon Liat Building, the furniture centre that homebuyers in the know flock to. The independent home and furniture design store, founded in 2002, continues its philosophy of curating and creating timeless modern designs with exquisite craftsmanship.
“We place emphasis not just on beautiful designs, but also on how they should be well made, functional and built to last,” says Felix Low, director of Foundry. “We look to a minimal, timeless aesthetic and let the natural beauty of materials shine in today’s overwrought world. We care about the methods as much as the final product. The result is a carefully blended range of delightful furniture, lighting and objects from well-known, as well as emerging, designers and brands.”
Discover new products from Miyazaki Chair Factory (in store are some designs by famed Danish furniture designer Kai Kristiansen) and well-loved labels such as Secto Design and &Tradition. Secto Design lamps from Finland boast the use of top-quality Finnish birch combined with the best craftsmanship to create warm, cosy lighting solutions for a range of interior spaces. Foundry carries its award-winning Petite lamp collection.
Also in the spotlight: Contemporary Nordic designs from &Tradition’s collection of furniture, lighting and accessories – with the iconic Utzon copper pendant lamp being one of the standout pieces. In addition to the furniture collections, Foundry also offers a range of home accessories, such as bowls and plates.
The store is a haven for lovers of Nordic design.
