The creative couple residing in this 990 sq ft (91 sqm) four-room HDB BTO flat in Sengkang wanted clean and simple aesthetics utilising their favourite colours of black, white and grey.
Through a friend’s recommendation, they met with interior designer Dan Wu from Distinctidentity who helped them create a easy-to-maintain home with funky design features.
Interactive Designer Husband
The interactive designer-husband designed all the posters in the house to feature space-specific quotes.
Interior designer Dan fashioned cupboard space beneath the wood-grain laminated stairs.

Travel Wall Decor
The couple loves travelling and the poster reads: “I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on earth.
Then I ask myself the same question.” Dan delved further into the travel theme by getting his contractor to construct a wall-mounted red “paper plane” of wood and laminate.

Chalkboard Wall Paint
A wall of cabinets clad in blackboard paint was built along this wall to provide storage as well as conceal the bomb shelter door and utility cabinet.

Master Bedroom
To carve out a home office within the combined master bedroom and second bedroom space, a curtain was used in place of a solid partition for a softer, less obstructive effect.
