Cafe culture comes home to simmer in this delicious melting pot of designs that characterise the stunning three-bedroom apartment design by Three-D Conceptwerke.
Its statement area is the kitchen, which sits adjacent to the other focal point, the living area. Each space is expressed in an unexpected palette of materials, colours and furnishings.
This apartment offers much to draw the eye in, thanks to a quiet yet playful environment.
$63,000 Renovation budget
The owners – a couple in their 30s who lived in Australia before returning to Singapore – love to cook and entertain, and the designers attempted to translate the culture and vibrancy of the city they lived in within existing structures and a budget of $63,000, excluding furniture.

The homeowners love collecting framed art, toy robots and other ornaments, showcased here against the feature wall.

Closed kitchen concept
The apartment had been left empty for a while, leaving the conditions of the walls a challenge to the interior design work.
“The kitchen could easily have been cracked open to flow into the adjoining space but we chose to contain the cooking area to allow for worry free cooking,” say the interior designers.

White colour scheme
The dominant colour scheme is white: Within the kitchen, gleaming white tiles are framed by a black mild steel-framed glass divider, which sits atop the external mosaic tile wall.
Light cool grey walls throughout act as a neutral backdrop for the client’s collections of framed posters and tin robots, alongside other collectibles and potted plants.
A sense of warmth is given to cool work surfaces in the kitchen, where stainless-steel worktops are balanced out by laminate on solid plywood cabinetry.

Wood bathroom
Timber cabinetry finishing in the kitchen and powder room lend a textural depth, anchoring the apartment and contrasting boldly with the spacious, crisp white backdrop.
In the powder room, timber cabinetry can make a statement by infusing a sense of luxury and sophistication.
The wood’s texture and color can be complemented with elegant hardware and fixtures, creating a harmonious and inviting space for guests.
The timber cabinetry also add storage solutions to keep the powder room organized and functional.
