Thomas and Amanda are the founders of online Japanese marketplace Zairyo, so it’s no surprise that they wanted a Japanese-inspired home, too.
Enthralled by the wood tones and minimalism of Japanese interiors, they tasked the designers from Lemonfridge Studio to create something similar in their one-bedroom apartment.

The couple has a large collection of colourful and quirky knick knacks and toys – they’re a big fan of Bearbricks! – so the designers decided on a wood-and-white palette that will allow the designs to pop.
Cafe-Inspired Dining Room
The dining settee was inspired by a cafe in Kyoto, and is a way to make up for the lack of storage space in the apartment.
Components can be flipped open to hold storage, and it features a small bookshelf at its side too.
Full-Height TV Console
The full-height, built-in television console was also incorporated with storage. One of it holds a pull-out ironing board!

Master Bedroom
The master bedroom features a customised headboard, which has been equipped with shelving and sockets.
This makes it easy for the couple to reach for their daily essentials, such as phones and spectacles.
Bathroom
The bathroom was kept simple, with a black-and-white colour scheme.
