“The home’s design showcases the two different styles the homeowners each like,” says Elaine Wong, principal designer at Life Interior Design, of this 900 sq ft (83 sqm) three-room corner unit in Hougang.
“These two styles, the resort and the Victorian look, are very different, which makes it difficult for them to co-exist in a small home.”

Victorian Decor
The Victorian decor theme is brought to life in the living room through the white and cream colour scheme.
Along the wall of windows, natural daylight streams in through white shutter blinds while a stately Chesterfield sofa sits against the travertine wall.

“We decided to make the area around the TV set look like a fireplace to match the rest of the living room. To get the look, we used brick-lookalike tiles,” says the designer.
