When the newlywed couple approached interior designers Wolf Woof to design their home — a one-bedroom condominium in Upper Serangoon — they did not have a concept in mind. Neither did they have a brief for the designer.
“Their only requirement was to have a unique space undefined by any style because they were quite disturbed that every other house they saw was Scandinavian-inspired,” interior designer Carmen recalls.
No Scandinavian Interiors, Please!
No stranger to unconventional designs, Carmen aimed to create a home featuring one-of-a-kind ideas for the couple.
“No brief is, unfortunately, also a double-edged sword,” she says, adding that it also meant in-depth enquiry on her part to understand their needs, wants and passions fully.
Perhaps what is most striking in the living room are the two walls of artificial plants.
They flank the television cabinet with doors featuring a geometric artwork of a rabbit. The doors can either conceal the television when not in use, or cover the shelves beside it.

TV Feature Wall
Positioned next to the living area, the dining area is placed against the same wall as the television feature.

Bedroom
The bedroom is connected to the living area. Separated only by sliding glass doors, the home retains its spacious feel. A similar palette of grey, white and light wood dresses the bedroom.
Overall, she employed low-maintenance materials for the home, with laminate for carpentry, tile flooring and vinyl cut-out stickers.
A “quirky and fun interior” makes this a comfortable abode for a young couple.
