Not content with just having the latest horsebit 1955 handbag from the house of Gucci? Well, creative director Alessandro Michele knows exactly how to scratch that itch. Having moved into the realm of home accessories a few years back, Gucci seems to have doubled down on its determination to not just be a fashion brand, but a full-fledged and rather desirable home brand too.
The latest home collection, comprising a wide array of candles, armchairs, cushions, throws, porcelain, trinket trays and even wallpapers, were beautifully presented in a campaign conceived with photographer and art director Max Siedentopf. The presentation shows the entire collection laid out resplendently around a perfectly manicured English garden, complete with larger-than-life topiary creations.
Before we continue, we’ll need to warn you on the sticker shocks. The cushions above, for example, are priced from $1,890. They feature embroidered floral bouquets and plush trims to give your living room that extra Ooomph it deserves. It might not be something you casually think about picking up while you’re window shopping along Orchard road, but hey gather a few friends and it makes for a terrific housewarming gift for your buddy (or a birthday gift for yourself).
These English-style tufted armchairs with bright pastel hues are finished with a backing featuring lush floral prints. You can see how it stands out against the dense foliage in the shot, but can you imagine how much bragging rights you’ll receive when you see your frenemy’s jaw drop to the ground when he/she sees one of these elegant but playful pieces pop up in your living room? Copping one of these babies will be a tad difficult though, as they are made to order and so you’ll need to put in your request to Gucci personally. Prices seem to be in the range of $10,789.

Gucci’s dinnerware range is a lot more tame but just as fancy as the rest of the collection. Available to dress your dining table are serving trays, plates and cutlery adorned with the brand’s iconic bee, tiger and owl motifs. Prices range from $530 for a pair of metallic coasters, to $530 for a tiger-head glass and $660 for a set of 2 forks or spoons.

Perhaps you’d prefer to instil some classical English elegance to your afternoon teas instead, in which case Gucci’s new range of teapots, cups and saucers will make for the perfect conversation starters. Trust us when we say no one is going to care if your croissants are from Paul’s or Tiong Bahru Bakery when all eyes are really on your servingware. A teapot will set you back $1,030 though, so you might want to make sure whoever you’re inviting to tea isn’t known to be a bull in the china shop. Maybe don’t invite the frenemy for such sessions.

Of course, if you and your friends are pitching in to get a gift for your drinking kaki, then it’s probably more ideal to get something versatile, such as these trinket trays. Perfect to hold everything from keys, to earrings, masks and whatnots, these pretty little trays will help to perk up your friend’s day. But they are also a great way to reward yourself now that 2022 is coming to an end, congratulate your achievements for the year with one of these keepsakes to get your that energy to work for a better year ahead. Prices for the trays start from $560.
