A leading household name among discerning homeowners in Australia, Cult is the go-to for anyone on the hunt for cool furnishing ideas and brands like HAY and &Tradition.
Having set his sights on expanding beyond the brand’s success downunder, Richard Munao, founder and director of Cult Design spent six years introducing the brand to local businesses and design studios here before taking the plunge to create a physical presence.
Cult Furniture Founder, Richard Munao
“Our first six years in Singapore were dedicated to relationship building with key clients and increasing the Cult brand awareness within the regional design community. During the pandemic the rising demand for well designed furniture for the home also led to a sharp increase in retail enquiries, sales and repeated requests from retail clients for us to have a physical store to visit,” Richard says.
Cult Furniture Singapore: Showroom at Club Street
The new showroom is housed in a conservation shophouse along the five-foot alleyways of Club Street, which has been gently restored by Paper Plane Architects to design a space that interplays the traditional, the contemporary, and the timeless.
Club Street is part of the hip Chinatown enclave and is well known for its restaurants and active nightlife scene.
Homeowners can expect the same furniture and lighting brands available at the new Cult Singapore showroom as its Australian outlets, including nau, Tait and Coco Flip, plus Danish design houses &Tradition, Vipp, Gubi and HAY.
The experiential showroom is cloaked in a series of soothing colours and textures, inviting one to wander around its intimate corners while soaking in the suave designery atmosphere.
The contemporary furnishings and fixtures provide inspiration on novel ways to dress up various spaces, from large living rooms to compact sleeping areas.
Situated in the heart of the CBD, and in proximity to quaint bars and restaurants, the trendy retail brand already looks right at home and in perfect company.
Timestrapped urbanites will find it convenient to drop by during the lunch hour for a quick browse, or as a sweet spot to cool down after weekend brunch in the vicinity. The wide variety of homeware available means there’s always something to covet or buy, regardless of budget.
Cult is located at 48 Club Street, 10am to 7pm daily. Tel: 9776 9471.
