It’s amazing how a cold industrial look can be made to look warm and cosy simply by using an aging technique on the walls of the space. Take a look at this 990 sq ft (92 sqm) home-styled studio belonging to the Belarus-based interior design firm, Studio11.

Bare Concrete Screed Floors
The team decided to leave the ceiling and floor treatments bare, allowing the original indentations and concrete screed to stand out.
This is contrasted by the use of smooth surfaces along the island counter and other pieces of furniture in the room.

Half Wall Paint
Instead of traditional wainscoting, the team painted a broad strip of faded dark blue along the lower part of the wall. The aged effect adds to the ambiance and cosy feel of the space.

Pastel Colour Decor
Pastel colours are used throughout the rest of the home, this keeps the whole look seamless and harmonious.

Exposed Piping
While exposed piping has come to be a somewhat contrived look in modern homes, the piping here is metallic and helps to add to the charm of the studio.

No Doors
The interior design team also fully utilised the smaller spaces by doing away with doors, allowing the spaces to flow effortlessly from one zone to another.
This narrow area was converted into a small study space, but in order to prevent the study from feeling too cooped-up, glass bricks are used as a partitioning wall, allowing natural light to fill the small area.
