For this four-room HDB BTO apartment at The Pinnacle @ Duxton, the homeowners wanted a Scandi-industrial style.
They sought the help of interior design firm Fineline to advise them on material choices and fixtures to use, in order to achieve the result they wanted.
A faux brick wall adds character to the living room space while lending a raw look. Mirrors clad the walls to visually enlarge the space, while concealing storage.
Yellow Sofa Centrepiece
Most of the furniture and fixtures in the home come in a neutral colour palette including brown, white and grey, but the homeowners wanted an eye-catching statement in the living room and chose a bright yellow sofa to bring in the cheerful vibe.
TV Console
Dark wood-look laminate is chosen for the TV console, which offers just enough display area for the homeowners’ collection of knick knacks. Backlit lights add to the warm ambience in the space.
Open Concept Kitchen
They also opted for an open-concept kitchen. A weathered wood-look laminate was chosen for the cabinetry here, to lend it a rustic and industrial touch.
Stone Tiles for Bathroom
The colour palette is consistent even in the common bathroom, except that the choice of finishes lends it a modern, contemporary look thanks to granite – or stone-look tiles. Choosing a concealed cistern WC helped give the space a sleeker appeal, too.
Common Bedroom
In one of the bedrooms, full-height wardrobe was built to ensure there is enough storage space.
As the room has limited floor area, the interior designer suggested incorporating a bay window to offer more seating area too.
Master Bedroom
For the master bedroom, the homeowners requested a walk-in wardrobe and open-concept bathroom. The bedroom design is kept pared down, to draw attention to the master bathroom.
Vanity Table
The vanity extends out to maximise the space in the room.
Renovation Cost: $40,000
Removing the wall between the master bedroom and bathroom has allowed for a more spacious master bathroom, which now houses a bath tub, shower area and large vanity counter.
With a renovation cost of approximately $40,000, this four-room HDB BTO home offers everything that the homeowners wanted.
