Designer Karina Zabihi is used to transforming stark white interiors into warm, welcoming homes. For her own abode, however — a 4-room rented penthouse apartment she shares with her Scottish husband — the English-Persian interior designer elected to keep it all-white.
Acrylic Bookcase
A resourceful decorator, Karina reused acrylic tables as bookcases.
Statement Furniture
She created styled “settings” with statement furniture pieces and art to punctuate the white spaces and create interest in every corner.
Kitchen
She also added a personal touch to the space with artwork in almost every corner of the home, even in the quiet corner of the kitchen.
Staircase
The easy chair and footstool were reupholstered to give them a new lease of life.
Painted Wood Flooring
Painting the timber floorboards of the balcony white made it seem more like an extension to the living space.
TV Room
The otherwise plain TV room is jazzed up with a quirky coffee table shaped like a spoon.
Renovation Cost: $10,000
Playing with scale, two larger-than-life vases dominate the minimalist master bedroom. Karina spent around $10,000, which included the painting the deck, carpentry, reupholstery and plants.
