If you’ve read our 2015 article — 10 things from Ikea you’ll find in every Singaporean home, we revisit it with an updated list of some of the most popular items in Ikea that Singaporeans love. Of course, there are some classics we can never do away without, like the Mammut stool ($9.90). Do you spot any of these items in your home?
The Pello armchair ($69) has been a constant in Ikea’s collection for years, just because this affordable armchair is such a hit with the local crowd!
Whether as a study lamp or bedside lamp, this Ranarp lamp ($59) has been spotted particularly in many industrial-style homes.
Fun, functional and durable, the Ikea PS cabinet ($119), which comes in several colours, including this bold chilli red, has been used as storage cabinet and even as a sideboard in many homes.
Not only in homes, the Boja pendant lamp ($99) has also been spotted in many cafes around the island!
We’ve seen this Tarno outdoor dining set ($113.80) in many apartment balconies.
Personally, I’m a fan of the Frosta stool ($13.90) — I own four of them, and even customised my cabinetry to fit them because they’re just so useful and handy when I have guests over. Of course, many Singaporeans love that these stackable stools can be stored in such a compact, space-saving manner.
The Bekvam step stool ($24.90) works both as a stool and as a mini ladder for when you need to reach high cabinets.
Another good buy you’ll find at Ikea is the Mulig clothes rack ($19.90). It adds convenience by offering visibility of all the clothings you have, and is a neat, tidy way of organising them out in the open.
We’ve seen the Ikornnes standing mirror ($169) in many bedrooms and entrance foyers. Its simple form makes it very complementary to many interior styles.
